Lorac Unzipped! Smooth as Suede! Best Eyeshadow Ever!
Dec 17, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: BeautyThese are the world's best eyeshadows i've ever used! I love them! They are so soft and go on so smoothly. They are so shimmery and rich.
Get ready for the Unzipped collection by Lorac. These eyeshadows are phenomenal. They feel like suede. These bad boys are due to launch in January. I used to use my Bobbi Brown shimmer brick for eyeshadow but these are my new go-to. The colors are neutral and you can wear them to work or make them dramatic by using the dark rich browns in the creases. Definitely one of my favorite new products!

Loving Lavender! EmerginC’s New Lavender Toner
Dec 17, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: BeautyThere is no smell I love more than lavender! Yum! I love the color! I love the flower! I love the smell! I even love the taste! Remember my favorite drink in the whole world? It was at Canyon Ranch and it was the best drink ever! The Purple Pillow!

So when emerginC asked if they could send me their lavender toner to try I jumped at the chance! Especially because emerginC skincare is a paraben-free and artificial color/fragrance-free company! I was all over it. They are also a signer of safecosmetics.org. Anyway, the toner smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling refreshed and calm. I have really sensitive skin and I had no problems with this toner. The lavender toner calmed my skin but I am told that it also restores pH levels, prevents loss of moisture and excessive growth of bacteria. The toner also contains green tea which is also a great anti-inflammatory agent. Even though it's mild though I really felt like my skin was clean after I used it.
The toner can be found on emerginc.com or at leading spas like Qua at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, the Spa at the Wynn in Las Vegas and many more! It's only $29 for a large bottle too that should last easily a couple months.
Best Cheap Date Night in NYC: The MET Museum
Dec 16, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Cheap Thrills, Lifestyle, Love and Travel, NYC ActivitiesThe Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC (The MET) is open until 9pm on Friday and Saturday nights right now. It's the best date night ever! We sipped wine in the atrium and were serenaded by a live pianist, cellist and violinist. The wine isn't cheap, the cheapest bottle I believe was about $48 but it's a spectacular Friday evening. They even have fun little bites to eat that were delicious. Curried pistachios! Didn't really complement the wine per se but they were yummy!
Cheap Trick: The museum suggests you pay $25/pp. However, this is a suggestion. I don't know about you but that's a bit steep to pay once a month (which is how often we go). So instead I say 2 please and hand them whatever I feel like I can afford. I take comfort in the fact that I plan on being a donor when Im rich one day.
Definitely head on over before other people discover this secret. Hopefully I'm the only one blogging about it
It is truly the best cheap date in NYC to be had!
Make Sure You’re Prepared Even If Your Hair Gets Flat or You Stumble Into Some Bad Lighting! Cher’s Computer Image of Her Closet Becomes an App Reality
Dec 16, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Celebs, Entertainment
Look like a 'farmer in your clothes' and don't care what you look like these days? As if!!
Cher's computer program from Clueless has finally become a reality (timely we know). Clueless was like totally the best movie of my life when I was 16. And Cher's computer program to stylize her to perfection and make sure her all her outfits matched made me dream about clicking a button and having a closet to spin around all the most perfect outfit options. I won't mention that she wore suits to school everyday. That's a different story. But she totally nailed them, no? I mean not many people can look hot in a yellow plaid suit.
Anyway Cher's 1990's technology has finally been turned into an app…20 years later. Holler! It's awesome. It's like Foursquare for non-losers. Take pics and share your outfits with other fashion-crazed friends out in cyber-space.
Learn how this app works by watching this video. It's a mere $1.99. Click here to find out where to buy it!

Getting Excited!!!
Dec 15, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Lifestyle, Love and Travel, Sponsored, TravelI'm finally planning my honeymoon y'all! We're going to Southeast Asia! I cannot wait!!! Do you know how many shots you need to get to go over there? It's crazy! You know what else is crazy? How expensive all the shots, etc. add up to be! Man if you don't have health insurance you're in big trouble!
I think I'm in the wrong business, Fortune 500 said that the pharmaceutical industry topped the list of the most profitable recently. The high cost of prescription drugs in the US is a major issue in the health care reform debate. And shouldn't it be!?
Even though it isn't too expensive to manufacture a prescription drug, pharmaceutical companies have to pay a high price for research and development of new drugs. Even though people in the US only represent 5% of the world's population, the United States is the leader in drug research and development. Thirty-five percent of the research on new drugs is conducted in the United States. A recent study indicated that research on new drugs to for AIDS, heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's, and arthritis will save more than $750 billion in treatment costs over the next 25 years. If you are buying expensive drugs in the US you are helping the pharmaceutical industry fund their research and development.
Many Americans are looking for alternatives to purchasing their prescriptions here in the US. But let's be honest you don't want to buy it at some shady market! But you can save money on drugs purchased from other countries. For example, a Canadian pharmacy , carries the same prescriptions available in the US for much cheaper. The reason for this is because drugs in Canada are under government price controls. Canada also carries a wider selection of generic drugs than the US.
What will the future bring us with this!?
