In My Living Room Right Now: Caldrea Fragrance Diffuser–Fragrance without the Flame
Mar 28, 2010 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: HomeAfter the Caldrea event last week I was sent some more amazing scents from Caldrea's PR peeps. As you guys know I receive many products, many of which you never hear about because they're just nothing special. I know I wrote about Caldrea's new line for Target last week but when I started using this fragrance diffuser I was so pleasantly surprised. It's awesome. It's delightful without being overwhelming. Now some of you may like for your apartments to tickle your nosehairs when you walk into the room but not moi. And that's why I love this. It's just the right amount of scent.
I'm also loving the Water Lily scent. It's filled with essential oils of jasmine and cedarleaf.
In case you didn't check out our last article about Caldrea you'll be happy to know that they use only the finest plant derived ingredients and are biodegradable and never tested on animals.
Caldrea to Launch Budget Friendly Collection for Target!
Mar 18, 2010 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Cheap Thrills, Home, Lifestyle, Love and TravelI had the pleasure to go check out Caldrea's latest line that's going to be launching soon in Target.
I'm so excited for this collection to hit stores. I love this company because they believe in a healthy home. They believe in good old fashioned elbow grease. They don't add antibacterial or antiseptic ingredients in their household cleaners. They also don't use parabens, or sodium lauryl sulfate.
The products for Tar-jay will feature a new array of delicious scents with all the same quality you've come to expect from Caldrea. I got a chance to sniff some tonight and they are delish. My favorites were Citron Ginger which has an updated citrus flavor to it, not just your average lemony scent. Next, was the Olive oil. It smells clean without overwhelming. Who would think olive oil could be a candle I'd lust after? Herbs of Provence is amazing as well. It smells like you picked up a handful of fresh herbs from your mother's garden (not mine of course but maybe your mom gardens).
These little fellas will be available in April and priced from $5.99 to $19.99 so you can start getting the quality scents you love from Caldrea for a fraction of the Price.
Spring Cleaning with Mrs. Meyer’s- Reasonably Priced Natural Cleaning Products
Mar 17, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Home
How many of you have seen the cleaning products by Mrs. Meyer’s? How many of you knew that she was a mother of 9 who kept house in a small town in Iowa. Mrs. Meyer’s daughter started the line to honor her Mama and her old-fashioned values. We’ve always been obsessed with the garden-inspired scents but we were even more sprung on Mrs. Meyer’s when we learned that her products are Earth and People friendly! The products are cruelty-free and are never tested on animals. They also don’t contain any ammonia, chlorine or phosphates. She’s the kinda woman who believes in good, old-fashion cleaning like washing your hands often and putting extra elbow grease in in the kitchen instead of drowning germs in harsh chemicals. This is why the brand does everything to ensure their products are as natural as possible. In fact, they’d love to go ahead and say they’re non-toxic but they can’t. Why? Because to do so the FDA requires animal testing which they just won’t do! (Golly-gee we love their heart!) The products are all also paraben free and packaged in recyclable PCR bottles.
My spring fever has officially begun and I plan to start cleaning out my overcrowded (ahem, probably unsanitary) apartment this weekend. These are the perfect products to get you in the mood! Their spring scents are delectable!! My personal fave that I tried is Snap Pea!

Right now for the cleaning kit, which includes all purpose cleaner, countertop spray, liquid dish soap and window spray, it’s only $14.99. Check out her other flavors like Basil, Lemon Verbena, Geranium and Lavender. Hit up the website now for 20% off Geranium products!
And remember–these may look small but it’s because they’re so concentrated. You dilute them yourself with water as necessary.

But that’s not all folks! Perhaps our favorite thing we’ve learned is that Mrs. Meyer’s just released a book: Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Home: No-Nonsense advice that will inspire you to CLEAN like the DICKENS. Her advice is written from the perspective of a mother and her traditional, old-fashioned values peek through on each page. We’ve only so far skimmed the book (which we plan to soon read cover-to-cover!) and we’ve learned such useful and helpful tricks! Here’s what we know so far:
To remove Wine from your couch dilute a teaspoon of mild detergent in a cup of water and blot. Then mix one part white vinegar with two parts water, and blot, then sponge off.
To clean diamonds pour vodka in a bowl and place your diamonds inside; let sit for a few minutes, rub with a soft toothbrush and then rinse with water.
To prevent costume jewelry from tarnishing put a piece of chalk in your jewelry box.
To remove grease rub corn meal on the stain and then brush the powder away and wash as usual.
To remove ink place the garment stain-side down on a paper towel, then blot the back with rubbing alcohol until the stain seeps from the shirt onto the towel. Magic!
Mrs. Meyer’s products are sold in a lil’ ol’ country store near you! Just kidding, they’re so popular they’ve hit your faves like Whole Foods, Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Toys R Us, The Container Store and Fred Meyer.
Did we mention what a fab gift this is for yo’ Mama? (Mother’s day is just around the corner!)
