Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita
Dec 15, 2008 Author: Margaux | Filed under: Food and Cocktails!, Restaurant ReviewYes, the name of this amazing Mary Brickell Village restaurant is quite a mouthful.
But, Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita is like a serious religious experience for the frugal yet fabulous diner.
I had a holiday luncheon there this afternoon with about 5 co-workers.
Get this: your meal is either $18 or $23, depending on which entree you get…this goes for lunch or dinner. And every single meal comes with one of the FREAKING INSANELY CREATIVE AND DELICIOUS appetizers.
Want to cry?? The desserts are all $2.50 a piece. You could try every single one on the menu for $10.
We didn’t have any wine because it was a biz lunch, but I scoped out the wine menu for all of you little lushies…you can get a freaking entire bottle of wine for $13!!!!! Are you kidding me??? No!!
I had the asian vegetable spring rolls for the appetizer and the mushroom gnocchi for my entree. I also sampled everyone else’s appetizers because they’re big enough to share. I AM OBSESSED WITH the eggplant, the gazpacho soup, the baby spinach salad and the spring rolls.
I seriously got home after work and told everyone I saw in my building about my obscenely glorious lunch.
GO. THERE. NOW.
I seroiusly considered going back there for dinner tonight just because it was that good and that affordable.
The only reason I didn’t was because I want to fit into my clothes.
Best restaurant I’ve been to in Miami in quite a long time. I am still in disbelief about how good it was, how much food you get, and how reasonably priced it all was.
Hell, the food was so good…if you take me there, you can call me Lolita or whatever the hell you want!
Want more?? There’s a little sandwich/coffee shop attached if you want to grab a quick bite.
There’s even a cute little bar area!!!
We’re in looooooooooooove!!!
Cheap cocktails!!!

GORDON BIERSCH!!!
It’s on Brickell Avenue, right in the heart of the chic Brickell biz district.
After 10, you can get ANY cocktail for only $5 and beers for only $4.
They’ve got quite an impressive drinks menu and it’s a microbrewery so lots of the beers are made right there!!!
We love sitting outside under the starts enjoying cheap drinks!!!
You will too!!!

Zeke’s on Lincoln Road
Dec 12, 2008 Author: Margaux | Filed under: Food and Cocktails!, Restaurant ReviewWant an amazing beer and wine bar in an ultra-fun and hip locale but don’t want to spend like $20 per drink?
I know it can be a challenge to find acceptably cool places in Miami without dropping a ton of cash.
That’s why my friends and I are all obsessed with Zeke’s.
Yes, there’s no denying it doesn’t look super slick from the outside…but you don’t even stay in the bar after you get your drinks…everyone sits outside at tables in the middle of fabulous, trendy Lincoln Road and people watches!
Zeke’s is cool but really down to earth. Two concepts you NEVER associate with one another in Miami. Believe me. Usually, it’s one or the other…but Zeke’s has BOTH!
It’s at 625 Lincoln Road. You’ve gotta pay attention, b/c it’s easy to walk right past it.
It’s got literally hundreds of drinks imported from all over the world…beers, wines, champagne…even some old, familiar girly drinks like Smirnoff Ice and Mike’s Hard for all you too chicken to try something new!!!
GO IMMEDIATELY–there’s nothing there for more than $5!!!!!!!
FIVE FREAKING BUCKS!!!! How are you not there already?!

Restaurant Review for Cafe Luxembourg
Dec 11, 2008 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Food and Cocktails!, Restaurant Review
Yum Yum Yum! It’s a little pricey but everything we ordered was yummy. This is right across the street from my boyfriend’s apartment so I hadn’t tried it yet. It seemed like, if we were going to go out we wanted to travel further than across the street. If we wanted to stay closeby it seemed a little pricey (which it is) But it was perfect for the miserable wind and rainy evening we were given.
To start we had a beet salad with Goat Cheese. It wasn’t the usual goat cheese I’m used to but it was really good. It was garnished with mandarin oranges and a citrus vinaigrette. Then we split the lobster roll, steak frites and brussel sprouts. All were great. The brussies were little babies cooked with apples and bacon. The steak was cooked perfectly and the fries were delish. But you know what, the lobster roll really deserves a standing ovation. It was bursting with huge pieces of lobster. I mean for $35 it better have been but it was divine!
If you’re going out for a night I definitely recommend hitting this French Brasserie type restaurant up. The service was nice and the food was great. Plus they even have a Prix-Fixe menu for $44 if you wanna save some cash. It’s a pre-theater menu though only available till about 730…and no Lobster roll. Loved the cozy environment!
Hot Headband! Trendy! Great Holiday Gifts!
Dec 11, 2008 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Food and Cocktails!, Health, JewelryWe know a certain little girl out there who has been coveting this headband ever since we made fun of it at Intermix. However, it’s kind of grown on us and shockingly, on the right person looks pretty cute on. I am not sure I would spend this much on a headband but if it’s for a special holiday occasion I give you permission to splurge. Little birdy out there who wants to wear this little birdy, we will need a pic ASAP of you in your feathered Carrie Bradshaw-esque headgear. Chirp Chirp!
