I mean, wow, that’s alotta leatha! We love her, but to us, this outfit is just wrong. And seems stifling in the middle of summer. We’ll leave you with one good reason not to cover yourself from head to toe in a leather suit…remember Ross on Friends? Episode 511? No? Refresh your memories…

Miami Fashion Week 2009–Shay Todd
Jul 19, 2009 Author: Margaux | Filed under: Bathing Beauties
My friend got us on the list to the Shay Todd fashion show at the W on South Beach on Friday.
OMG–I had a blast! Not only were we sitting in the front row, but I amused myself before the show began by spotting a few quasi-celebs. (ie: reality TV star Dina from New Jersey Real Housewives and that blond photographer chick from Miami Social)
This was a true smartypanties experience. Free tickets, front row, high-end swimwear fashion show.
Truth be told, I was unimpressed with the majority of the bathing suits. I get that she was going for the “vintage pin-up girl look” for the suits, but they were high waisted and ill-fitting and looked more like control-top granny panties than couture swimwear. And not to be rude, but the model who opened the show looked like she might’ve been born a man.
Despite the suits being underwhelming, I had a blast at the show…the production itself was gorgeous and the W seems like it would be a super fun place to have drinks and hang out. Plus, NIVEA sponsored the show and gave us all canvas bags filled with NIVEA products! I’ll be reviewing those shortly, so stay tuned, dolls!
Gorgeous show, some interesting bathing suits, and a super fun time overall!!!

Stacey Bendet of Alice and Olivia- Learn About the Designer
Jul 5, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: FashionFrom pants at Barney’s to shoes at Payless, designer and entrepreneur Stacey Bendet has turned Alice & Olivia into a $50 Million dollar business.
Bendet has been designing since childhood and her affordable designer frocks are now enjoyed by celebrities from Kate Hudson to Paris Hilton and Cameron Diaz and sold in more than 800 stores including seven Alice & Olivia boutiques. She is an entrepreneurial and creative force and that is why I’m Obsessed with Stacey Bendet.
Watch the video interview, it runs about 20 minutes and in it she talks about:
- she designed her own bat mitzvah dress
- hates her toes
- is BFF with Mena Suvari
- the first pair of pants she shipped to stores didn’t fit anyone
- fights with her husband (yes she’s real) and has a my way or the highway leadership style

Each Alex and Ani piece is environmentally conscious and hand crafted from recycled metals that inspire the spirit by designer, Carolyn Rafaelian. This effort to incorporate environmental consciousness while staying fashionable is extremely important in the world we live in.The line consists of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, and hair accessories, and fuses glamour and consciousness. The Alex and Ani’s expandable concept allows for each piece of their jewelry to have a perfect custom fit!!!
We Love These! One is just $21.
This big set is $138. For good jewelry, we’re thinking it’s a pretty good deal.
