A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of going to Naturalizer to check out their Fall shoes for this season. I had never been into Naturalizer before, hard to believe I know but it's true. I just had never really heard anything about the brand. I just couldn't believe how affordable and cute the styles were. And the best part about not shopping at Saks or Bloomies is that the shoes here are actually comfortable. I know have I turned old now that I'm in my 30s that I care about comfort? No, I'm just a New Yorker who has to huff it down into the subway until I make enough money for a personal chauffeur! Until then…

Honestly though I was really impressed by the fact that the shoes were spot on with many of the trends and incorporated serious comfort at prices that are really affordable ($60-$189). Now yes, I'm not gonna lie there were some shoes that you may expect from a brand boasting uber-comfy shoes but there were also many diamonds in the rough!!

As you can see above the brand even is embracing faux-shearling trims and cuffed boots. Love, love love these shoes!! I would have gotten them the day I was in the store but they hadn't arrived in stock yet! 

As you can see there were many lady-like styles that were both comfortable and stylish. The shoes could take you from a walk to work in the morning to going out with your friends pain-free! The brand rep explained to me the N5 comfort zones: 1) Extra cushioning, 2) Breathability, 3) Balanced from heel to toe so the ball of your foot doesn't bear the brunt of your weight, 4) Flexible soles, 5) Lightweight materials.

They had some really adorable Mary-Janes and lots of shoes with cute detailed bows! I'm telling you it's worth a trip inside, ladies. I really was impressed with what they had to offer.

And here is a pic that the wonderful shoe salesman took for me. These boots are so comfy and really look almost identical to my Cynthia Vincent pair I got last season for $475! They even have a really cute bow on the back.

Miz Mooz is a new fave brand of ours. It places value on comfort and simplicity unlike the usual affordable Shoesies.  Miz Mooz has a team of international designers cranking out cute designs all year round. I’m digging their shoes because they have a European element to them (besides quality). Their styles are eclectic and edgy. When I checked out their website, they describe their story as a “Cinderella story.” I mean how could I not want to buy a pair after that!? They say their shoes make you feel like you’re wearing a comfortable glass slipper! I mean, how cute!

They’re avail all around the city at Infinity Shoes, which is where I found them. I love that shoe store. They carry so many quality brands. And since I’m a granny I need me some comfy sandals! I may need to invest in a pair of Birkenstocks. They also carry the infamous Fit Flops. Does anyone have any thoughts on these? I’m thinking of investing in a pair. I doubt their abilities to build my leg muscle but they look comfy.  Gus Gus? What do you think?

I can hardly believe I’m going to say this, but, gasp, these are kind of adorable! And what else? They’re only $38. I might have to pick up a pair to check out their quality, which we’re guessing is lacking. But honestly, for $38 you could wear them this season 5 times and call it a deal.

I’m loving the detail–i mean, tell me you don’t want them more because of the pink bottom! Yum!

Smartypanties had the honor of being asked to attend Essie/Haviana’s spring kick off party! While we didn’t need anyone to get us psyched about two of our fave brands, this party sure didn’t hurt! One pedicure, one Nuvo cocktail, five appetizers and countless cupcakes by Baked by Melissa later I was ready to concentrate on the new lines:

I got the Perky Purple for my pedi and love it. It’s a summer version of my fave dark purple shades. Rock out with your toes. the color intensity is amazing.

We love these lively yet subdued hues. They feel classic and timeless. And they can be worn everyday.

Moving on, we got a glorious free pair of Havianas! We basically own a rainbow of these guys. However, we’ve always had one little problem–we love the slide on ease but we hateeeeee the floppiness. Is it just us? That noise and the fact that they nearly fall off with every step? Well, Haviana has solved all my problems–they created a sandal now with a strap that goes all around your foot and can be tightened. It’s a delight. And my feet were not bleeding by the time I got home! (Good sign! Most of my shoes have a breaking in period but these were fine–so far anyway!)

Something about all the colors get us every time! And if you’re looking for last year’s styles of just the regular flip-flop they’re in abundance at Loehmann’s for like $10, I think. Or they were a few weeks ago…
