I am rarely surprised by most packages I receive for this blog but today I got a Christmas card from my friends over at Sock It To Me! They also sent me these adorable monkey love socks! And a handwritten card! How sweet!? Happy Holidays! And get yourself some fun holiday socks! The perfect stocking stuffers…or stockings!

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC (The MET) is open until 9pm on Friday and Saturday nights right now. It's the best date night ever! We sipped wine in the atrium and were serenaded by a live pianist, cellist and violinist. The wine isn't cheap, the cheapest bottle I believe was about $48 but it's a spectacular Friday evening. They even have fun little bites to eat that were delicious. Curried pistachios! Didn't really complement the wine per se but they were yummy! 

Cheap Trick: The museum suggests you pay $25/pp. However, this is a suggestion. I don't know about you but that's a bit steep to pay once a month (which is how often we go). So instead I say 2 please and hand them whatever I feel like I can afford. I take comfort in the fact that I plan on being a donor when Im rich one day. 

Definitely head on over before other people discover this secret. Hopefully I'm the only one blogging about it It is truly the best cheap date in NYC to be had!

The holidays are coming at break-neck speeds! How is that we never seem to have our holiday shopping done in time? Even though December is without a doubt the most hectic time to shop, most of us don't have a choice (if you save things till the last minute). Even though it's crazy though you can get some great deal. If you need stuff for yourself though, the best time to buy is January. Sales apply almost everywhere because companies want to get rid of holiday items pronto. 

For me, I know I hate waiting, I want that pair of boots and I want them now. But if you can wait, then I suggest doing so. 

If you do need presents though for a party then go online, often times there are great deals and coupon codes. If you haven't yet, check out Retailmenot.com for coupon codes for your favorite sites. That site is amazing I have saved so much money.

Olivia Palermo is advocating for mixing the designer with low-end pieces. She put her smart-ass to work at Top-Shop in NYC last Thursday, dressed several mannequins for the holidays. She did the same thing in Chicago. Ladies, if snotty little Olivia can wear Topshop then you shouldn't feel badly mixing in a few pieces from Forever or Old Navy.
