Smartypanties.com Hair Stylin’ Kerastase Chroma Riche Review- Gotta Love the Pink Line!
Jul 15, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Beauty, Hair Stylin'
So, I tried a fabulous product, Chroma Riche softening mask by Kerastase. My knotty, ratty, sun damaged hair turned into a silky dream! Seriously, during the summer my Japanese straightened hair when mixed with beach wind and chlorine likes to turn into a ratty mess! But this product gave me lots of extra slide. The brush seriously slipped right through it! After I blew out my hair it looked smoother than ever and even the color seemed more vibrant. I love this stuff but like everything else Kerastase, it ain't cheap. This price rocks out at $60. If you're used to buying higher price-range products this is definitely one worth checking out because it rescued my lifeless locks!
Check out Kerastase for more products!

Monoi Repairing Collection by Carol’s Daughter
May 7, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Hair Stylin'
For thousands of years, Polynesians have used Monoi Oil for its natural reparative properties. To make Monoi, freshly picked Tiare flower blossoms are steeped in coconut oil to produce fragrant oil that helps repair hair, improving its condition, softness, and shine. The Monoi Collection was created especially for those concerned with hair breakage. This product does not contain petrolatum, mineral oil, or artificial colors.
Only strong hair can grow long and as a fan of insanely long locks I am loving this line, especially the repairing hair mask. It left my hair feeling strong but not weighed down. I also loved the smell!
Carol's Daughter products are available in Sephora stores and on CarolsDaughter.com.
Have you tried the Monoi repairing collection?

Get the Look Amy Adams, Angie Harmon, Lea Michele: 2011 SAG Awards: Affordable Extensions from QVC
Feb 2, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Celebs, Hair Stylin'
The 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on January 30th, where celebrities continue to celebrate television and film and more fashion and beauty trends. This year, stars took a more relaxed approach to their fashion and hairstyles that paired off each look. These styles were not only the perfect match to their all over looks, but couldn’t be easier to re-create. Here are three trends you can try at home with some hair extensions. I've never tried QVC's extensions (since my hair is a mile long) but I've heard good things. Let me know if you have tried them in the comments!
Sleek Ponytail: Stars like Julianna Margulies, Amy Adams and Angie Harmon all sported a sleek ponytail on the red carpet and kept it modern and clean – no matter if it was high or low. To add length to your ponytail, simply try Hairdo Wrap-Around Pony ($49: QVC.com).
(Sleek Pony from left: Angie Harmon, Julianna Margulies and Amy Adams)
Beachy Waves: Long wavy locks are a classic Hollywood hairstyle, but the waves seen on the SAG red carpet were worn more relaxed and less coiffed. To get the look of Mila Kunis, Lea Michelle and Julia Stiles, add in some extra volume to hair with Hairdo 20 Inch Styleable Extensions ($99: QVC.com) or the Dancing with the Stars Hair Extensions in Go! Go! Girl ($49: HSN.com).
(Beachy Waves: Lea Michelle)
Side-Sept Updo: The updo for the SAG red carpet belonged to the side-swept chignon, worn parted to the side and low, which was seen on Natalie Portman, January Jones and Tina Fey.
To easily style this look at home, use the Hairdo Braided Chignon ($42: QVC.com) or the Dancing with the Stars Hair Extensions in Glamarama ($20: HSN.com) that both clip-into your own bun and add a glamorous finish!
January Jones
Natalie Portman, January Jones, Diana Agron: Get the Look!
Jan 31, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Beauty, Celebs, Hair Stylin'Celebrity stylist, Edward Tricomi of Warren-Tricomi Salons provides us with all the inside tips on how to have hair just like our favorite stars. The following looks from the 17th annual SAG Awards can easily become ours with the help of Tricomi.
January Jones
This look isn't my fave to be honest. Whenever I do an updo like this I always feel so un-sexy. But if it's your thang, to achieve this smart, lady-like look of January Jones (nominee for Mad Men), blow out hair straight, using a bit of a round brush to create lift wave. Take a drop of hairspray and comb hair back, then comb the wave into play. Any extra hair can be pinned in tightly by twisting hair back and tucked in until all hair is up off of neck.
Diana Agron
To achieve this sultry look of Glee’s Dianna Agron, first blow dry hair all while adding some textured waves. Once hair is blown dry tease the top to add some extra height. Lastly, comb hair back softly into a loose chignon secured with bobby pins.
Natalie Portman
Portman’s classic look is in perfect harmony with her dress. To easily achieve this look at home blow dry hair softly with a round brush. Part hair to the desired side. Spray and twist the smaller side rolling it toward the back of your neck. The larger side should be twisted and sprayed into an “s” shape to follow your natural hairline. Make sure to swoop the front pieces into a wave securing it with hairspray. Pull hair into a rubberband and put into a ponytail. Twist ponytail into a sleek bun and secure with a bobby pin.

Getting ready for Valentine's Day always takes a little bit of prep work if you know what I mean. Who has time these days for all of this when they're working a full time job, freelance writing and producing a daily blog….oh right, not me! Well, your prep work just got less painful! Ever wanted to reduce the ouch factor of your waxing appointment? Well, problem solved!
BareEase consists of a prep kit featuring a Lidocaine-based cream (the most widely used ansthetic, at the maximum concentration allowed over the counter) and other soothing ingredients like aloe and jojoba.
