Giuliani’s Daughter Caught Red Handed for Shoplifting at Sephora
Aug 5, 2010 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Beauty, Celebs, EntertainmentGuess the aisles at Sephora were too tempting with all their luscious beauty products. Ms. Caroline Giuliani, daughter of our old NYC mayor, Rudy Giuliani was arrested yesterday under suspicion of shoplifting at the 86th Street Sephora (my new Sephora! Quelle Shocke!)
Do you think the 20-year-old Harvard student will do any hard time? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
In My Library: Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked a Hornet’s Nest Review
Aug 5, 2010 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Books!, Movie ReviewsIf you haven't read these 3 books get yourself on Amazon right now and order them. While the writing may not be the most compelling literature I've ever laid eyes on, the story is engrossing and as suspenseful as I've ever read. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo features Lisbeth Salander, an alternative (to say the least) young woman who ends up teamed up with a high profile journalist, Mikael Blomkvist, somehow attempting to solve a murder mystery involving a very creep-tastic family. The book is edgy and definitely has some mildly disturbing scenes but it's nearly impossible to put it down. Lisbeth's complexity keeps you wanting more and rooting for this underdog for nearly 2100 pages in the series.
The Girl Who Played with Fire is much easier to get into, you're familiar with the characters and the story flows from the first book. In this book Lisbeth finds herself accused of three killings. The GIrl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest is even quicker to get into since the first story ends with many questions still to be answered. The third book continues to follow Lisbeth's life and her scandalous past.
As for the movie, The Girl wtih the Dragon Tattoo, the Swedish version was raw, tantalizing and amazing. I fear that when Daniel Craig, the worst Bond since Roger Moore, takes over the lead role of Blomkvist he will dilute the edginess of the book with classic Hollywood crapola.

Aug 3, 2010 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Fashion
Holy ba-jesus Batman. Just when you thought maybe if you saved your piggy bank up for a while you'd be able to snag a Chanel bag they went and pull a ridic price increase. There's this crisis going on right now, the name of it escapes me, people are struggling to make ends meet…come on, help me out…oh yeah it's the RECESSION. At least this price increase makes them somewhat less lust-worthy since now there is no way in H-E-L-L that I can afford one (err…another one). Au Revoir Chanel. Perhaps we'll see you for our 60th birthday…
A sampling of the horrific prices, from bad to worse…:
Medium Classic: was $2600, now $3400
Jumbo Classic: was $2995, now $3795
Jumbo Reissue: was $3600, now $4200
Here Comes the Bride: Chelsea Clinton Hits the Aisle

What do you think of Chelsea's dress? I like the top but I'm not feeling all those layers in the skirt. They look like they're about to attack and swallow you whole. Bill looks a bit gaunt, no?
The headline for this next pic is that Hillary has gone glam for the rehearsal dinner…really? Probably every designer throwing themselves at your feet Hill and you pick this? This dress should be saved for the beach. Moo-moo or coverup? Yes. Glam outfit. I think not.

Brian Lichtenberg for Forever 21: A Crime Against Everything Forever 21 Stands for

I'm so not feeling this collection. To me, the whole beauty behind Forevies is that you pretend it's designer and if you have a good eye you can get away with it. Why on earth would I want a shirt with BL, which not only is reminiscent of Abercrombies logo splattering, but fingers me as someone who shops at Forever 21? Pass.
