Did Anyone Catch Lindsay Lohan’s Movie Labor Pains on ABC Family?

For mine and sissy’s last night in the apartment together we thought we’d sit back, order chinese and take in Lindsay Lohan’s latest made for TV movie. I mean, we weren’t expecting Oscar contender but it was pretty bad even given the low expectations we had for it. It definitely wasn’t the bundle of joy we had hoped for. The odd thing is, US weekly, obvs the Bible, gave it 2.5 stars. I was kind of shocked…it probably deserved 1. I mean, it had its moments where I laughed but I def would NOT watch this again, and given my love of stupid romantic comedies and of Lindsay Lohan, that’s saying something.

Miami Fashion Week 2009–Shay Todd
Jul 19, 2009 Author: Margaux | Filed under: Bathing Beauties
My friend got us on the list to the Shay Todd fashion show at the W on South Beach on Friday.
OMG–I had a blast! Not only were we sitting in the front row, but I amused myself before the show began by spotting a few quasi-celebs. (ie: reality TV star Dina from New Jersey Real Housewives and that blond photographer chick from Miami Social)
This was a true smartypanties experience. Free tickets, front row, high-end swimwear fashion show.
Truth be told, I was unimpressed with the majority of the bathing suits. I get that she was going for the “vintage pin-up girl look” for the suits, but they were high waisted and ill-fitting and looked more like control-top granny panties than couture swimwear. And not to be rude, but the model who opened the show looked like she might’ve been born a man.
Despite the suits being underwhelming, I had a blast at the show…the production itself was gorgeous and the W seems like it would be a super fun place to have drinks and hang out. Plus, NIVEA sponsored the show and gave us all canvas bags filled with NIVEA products! I’ll be reviewing those shortly, so stay tuned, dolls!
Gorgeous show, some interesting bathing suits, and a super fun time overall!!!

Moving Day is Right Around the Corner: Cheap Good Quality Furniture Costco Flat Rate Movers and More!
Jul 16, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Thoughts of the Moment
Moving day is right around the corner. BF has officially “asked permission” from my parents to move in with me. Gotta love the old fashioned folks! Anywho, here are my moving tips thus far…
Sleepy’s: Negotiate the crap outta the original price they give you. They’re all full of it! Go to Macy’s and Bloomies too to get a better idea of what you want. We got our bed down from 2900 to 1400, no joke! Personally I think Sleepy’s is still the way to go despite their shady practices of price puffery. Supposedly if you call 2 nights before they deliver and pretend to cancel they’ll knock the price down even lower…we’ll see about that…
Costco: I think we’re ordering our TV from here, or should I say my parents are (love you Mommy and Daddy!! Quite the move-in present!). They double the warranty of the manufacturer, which these days is definitely worth it.
Furniture: We checked out a bazillion stores and so far The Door Store seems to be in the lead for quality and price. We hit Straight from the Crate, which other people had recommended and found it to be super crappy and its prices were about $150 higher than Door’s (about $400 for a dresser and $500 for a coffee table). We’re looking to get nice, quality stuff, not garbage we’ll toss when we move again.
Movers: We’ve chose Flat Rate…will keep you posted…
Forgive me, darlings if I don’t write much, I will obvs be very busy with the packing and move!
Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment Best Lip Balm Ever!
Jul 16, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Beauty
You know our obsession with Fresh products! We love our Sugar lip balm we bought this past winter on a whim when it was the only thing in the store we could afford after a long weekend out. Has anyone tried this yet? The original made my lips sing Hallelujah in the winter when it infused them with moisture. It’s sold out now but we hope to purchase it soon…Let us know your thoughts in the commies!
