Burt’s Bees Cult Classic Brand is Almost all Natural! Great Cheap Beauty Products Anti-Aging Paraben free and Phthalate free
Jul 27, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: BeautyBurt’s Bees have been around for quite some time now, to be exact they have been around since 1984 and they are now the leading manufacturer of Earth friendly, natural personal care products. All of their products contain only natural ingredients like beeswax, botanical and essential oils, herbs, flower and minerals. They have quite an extensive line with 150 products in various categories including baby care, lip care, hair care and men’s care to name a few.

Given my current obsession with paraben free and phthalate free products you can only imagine my joy when I was sent over a few of Burt’s samples to try out. Reasons why I like it: It’s filled with Royal Jelly, one of nature’s most nutritious substances and Sunflower oil which nourishes and moisturizes it’s also packed with 134 nutrients, including 17 amino acids, and vitamins A, C, D and K, . It has a light and fresh scent, not heavily perfumed at all. It smells like what clean should smell like in the summer. It absorbed super quickly into my skin. It also left my skin shimmering because it’s packed with mica, which is a light reflecting mineral that enhances skin’s glow.
We would totally buy this on our own. It’s made a great addition to the beauty regiment!
Plus, for a 6 fl. oz. tube it’s only $9!
Also check out the Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm or Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.
Visit BurtsBees to check out their other products as well! I like that I can feel good slathering them on and not feel like I”m rubbing cancer-causing chems all over myself…but that’s just me…
*As always Smartypanties received these products to sample for free. Take of that what you will.
Bond No. 9 Drops its latest fragrance this fall! Success is a Job in New York Perfume
Jul 27, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Beauty

Think rich, look poor.”-Andy Warhol
Just when you thought your average fragrance wasn’t giving you your money’s worth Bond no. 9 went ahead and started selling something as sweet as the smell of success! (err…almost)
Introducing Bond No. 9’s latest eau de parfum, Andy Warhol Success is a Job in New York, with a $cent as $eductively $weet as a dollar $ign.

Prophetically, Warhol’s first assignment in the ‘50s as an illustrator was for a Glamour magazine article entitled “Success is a Job in New York.” The title was later used for a book about Warhol’s early career. Through hard work and leveraging his immense talent as a draftsman, Andy Warhol would become one of the most successful commercial artists in New York City thus laying the foundation to become one of the most important fine artists of the 20th century. Wearing it will bring untold wealth. (Just kidding, but in this economic downturn we all need a sense of humor.)
So here is the world’s first money-oriented perfume. Success breaks the rules of romantic perfume subjects, but it suits the Warholian consumer sensibility.
The Scent:
It’s warm and spicy that’s for sure. It’s filled with spicy-citrussy top-notes like coriander, cardamom, mandarin and bergamot. It also features jasmine, tuberose, plum and pimento (weird).
Smartypanties Take:
It’s a little to unisex for my personal taste but I just love the bottle enough to possibly put me over the edge. The scent is definitely powerful and lasts and lasts. The tiny sample bottle I was scent to sample broke on the way over to me yet the papers in the envelope still smell 3 days later.
Launch date: October 1st, 2009
Suggested Retail Price: $220 for 100ml; $145 for 50ml
Bond No. 9 wants your empty perfume bottles for recycling – all of them! Just bring your empty glass perfume bottles-Bond No. 9 or anyone else’s-to Bond No. 9 boutiques and Bond No. 9 perfume counters at Saks Fifth Avenue nationwide. They’ll take care of the rest. And by way of an eco-friendly thank-you, they’ll give you a refillable pocket spray. Free with any purchase!

Georgia Mae Jagger for Hudson- You Can Always Get What You Want!
Jul 22, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Celebs, Fashion
The Los Angeles-based denim brand, which got a $30 million investment from Fireman Capital Partners and Webster Capital this year, is expanding its mix and will kick off a fall ad campaign featuring rock progeny Georgia May Jagger (daughter of her lip-look-alike, Mick Jagger). We’re totally digging this look-the jeans, not a nearly naked 17 year old. We have always loved our Hudsons! Definitely always a piece we have for the long haul. We’ve had our white Hudson jeans for like 3 years already!
Jagger’s English and American lineage mirrors Hudson’s brand, which marries British Cool and California Freedom. Among the campaign images are ones of Jagger wearing denim cutoffs and lounging on a Union Jack pillow or posing in ripped, bleached jeans against the background of an elegantly disheveled apartment, complete with beat-up leather armchairs and worn afghan rugs.
Hudson is starting to look toward expanding its offerings – such as the ripped denim jeans and lace-back jeans Jagger wears in the campaign – and putting more emphasis on its menswear. Hudson is sold at stores such as Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Harrods and Selfridges.

I mean, wow, that’s alotta leatha! We love her, but to us, this outfit is just wrong. And seems stifling in the middle of summer. We’ll leave you with one good reason not to cover yourself from head to toe in a leather suit…remember Ross on Friends? Episode 511? No? Refresh your memories…
