Nicole Richie House of Harlow Jewelry Collection As Seen on Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton
Jun 22, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Celebs, Jewelry
We totally are obsessed with all things Nicole Richie–be it old reruns of the Simple Life, her flawless Mommy style or her great (and reasonably priced) collection of jewelry and accessories.
Nicole tells Singer22.com that her new collection is “going to be a totally different line.” While the first one was inspired by her personal vintage jewelry collection and her travels to flea markets around the world, Nicole says the next one “is focusing more on old English, equestrian and more sophisticated looks.” As for her shoe and clothing lines, Nicole is still in the design process.
We’re really into the headpieces in theory but I don’t know what a proper occasion would be for one. Regardless we’re loving her collection.
Like this necklace above, worn by Kimmy Kards is $120. I mean yes, it’s no Forever21 bargain, but it’s also not completely out of my price range. Like on a day I feel like I’m rolling in the dough, I could definitely drop a Hund-o on this baby. And even though we want the headpiece, it is Hella-Outta-Our-Price Range, weighing in at $455.

Smarty-PANTRIES Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters Perfect Healthy Snack
Jun 22, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Food and Cocktails!, Smarty-PANTRIESSo, speaking of disclosing when we get products for free…
We joined a service called MyBlogSpark.com, which sends bloggers new products so that we can review them and let our readers know what we think. So, as always, just want to let y’all know we got this product for free. I mean, you know the drill at this point, it’s the lawyer in us beating the disclosure over the head. And we don’t have to write about the products but I thought my girls can always use a healthy snack idea!
We’re going to try and keep our reviews concise and to the point from now on so here goes nothing…
These nut clusters are a yummy alternative to snacking on plain ol’ granola, which is usually low in protein. Here because of the nuts you get 4g of protein per serving (4.5 servings in a bag). They’re salty and sweet at the same time. Our fave one was the cashews, but go figure that’s one of our fave nuts.
As we’ve said in the past, we’ve been trying to eat less sugar after reading Anti-Cancer. These are surprisingly low in sugar (~8g per serving), which is less than like a sugary kid cereal (which can run at around ~14g/serving). I don’t know if I’d categorize these as a breakfast food, more of like a much healthier alternative to a cookie but something that’ll satisfy your sweet-tooth.
And the Jury says: I’d definitely purchase these on my own. They’re a good thing to keep at your desk when you feel like raiding the office candy bowl. As we’ve mentioned, it’s not good to eat candy between meals because the sugar levels spike your insulin (the perfect environ for cancer to flourish) so we think these are definitely a better alternative. I mean what do we know? We’re not doctors (remember that! but we do take health seriously!)
Blogging Regulations: What We Want Our Readers to Know
Jun 22, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Newsworthy
Hi Smartypanties,
So, there has been talk lately about the Federal Trade Commission cracking down on bloggers and we here at Smartypanties think this is a good thing. Many bloggers get paid per post. What does that mean? It means that they get paid to say they like a product. What does that mean for you? Well, if they don’t disclose their relationship with the company they make their readers believe what they’re saying and gain their trust all while accepting a payment for a positive review they may not really stand behind. Now, as we’ve told you guys, we often get free products to review them, however, we get many products that you never hear about because we only write about the ones that we like. What does that mean for us? We don’t get sent as many products perhaps as the blogger who is in it for all the free stuff, the blogger who says they like anything just to ensure that a company will keep the free stuff coming. So, gals all we’re saying is be wary and read blogs (and well everything) with a cautious eye. We will always disclose here if we got something for free and will never write a post because we’ve been paid to do so but this is just something you should be aware of
We know you’re all savvy customers looking for honest reviews and our honest opinion and that’s what we’re always going to give ya! We’re just looking out!
