Warren Tricomi at the Douglas Hannant Fashion Show- Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

Feb 21, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Fashion, Hair Stylin'

Warren Tricomi worked with designer Douglas Hannant and Edward Tricomi (co-owner of salon)
created the hair for the Douglas Hannant Fall 2009 Show at New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. They did the hair at the WT Salon in the Plaza Hotel.

To get the look follow these easy steps (and you may want to tone it down a little if you’re not walking the runway…or working the corner)

Step #1: Prep hair by making it straight and sleek and part hair to create a bottom and a top.

Step #2: Take the lower portion of hair and slick back with hair spray to create a French twist.

Step #3: Next tease the upper portion of the hair with hairspray and
create a bouffant and smooth over with a flat brush and hairspray.

(OK you don’t have to go this far)

Step #4: Pin back the bouffant to create a linear ponytail look and
spray for hold.

Ta Da!!!!

GLUTTONY….

Meet the McNuggetini! It’s a chocolate milkshake with vanilla vodka, rimmed with honey sauce and garnished with a chicken McNugget. I think this is what a glutton’s heaven will look like.

Swear, one day we are soooooooo making these!!!

Hottest Celeb-Seth Gabel, The Hills- No More Drama Lauren Conrad, He’s Just Not That Into You- Scarlett Johansson

Feb 20, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Uncategorized

Dirty Sexy Money Star, Seth Gabel, walked by us yesterday on the street and we nearly fainted! He is so dreamy! We HEART you Sethy!!!

So we finally saw “He’s Just Not That Into You” Here are our thoughts…

Ginnifer Goodwin is so endearing and while her character can get a little annoying throughout the too-long film, she’s so charming that she has you rooting for her and her “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” behavior.

Skank-ass Johansson can add homewrecker to her list of characters played. Why do we hate her so much? I dunno, but in the film she plays the exact character we picture her to be in real life–a skanky, man-stealing, biotch. How can we make snap judgments like that? Because this is our blog! If you have something else to say, start up your own! We don’t like you Scarlett and we plan on keeping you and girls like you as far away as possible from our mans! Here she is above taking her clothes off for her married love-interest. Classy bitch.

Please explain to me why nothing ever happens on the City or the Hills yet all they do is talk about how they don’t want “any  more DRAMA.” Hmm, but nothing actually happens on the show. Seriously like over an entire season not one remarkable event occured– not even any big fights? In fact, perhaps we would regularly watch these terrible, trashy un-reality dramas if even the TINIEST shred of drama actually occurred. I mean your 2 main characters are possibly the most boring girls alive…discuss…

Can you believe these losahs make this much an episode…except for LO and Brody, hahaha.

PS- has anyone noticed that we have no idea how to spell the Scarlett-Blo’s name?

So Cosmopolitan- Dashing Diva Does Fashion Week

Feb 20, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Fashion, Nailed It!

We caught up with Dashing Diva, one of our fave NYC salons, backstage during fashion week to learn what hte new nail trends would be. (This is probably the only luxury at Fashion Week we’ll be able to afford this year!)

Dashing Diva did the nails at some of the hottest shows this year: Diane von Furstenburg, Catherine Holstein, Charlotte Ronson, and more! They have a fabulous line of colors they just released: The Manhattan Collection. Each shade is cleverly named after a New York State of Mind: Socialite, Mad About Madison, I’ll Pink to That, and many more.

Click here to check out the collection of charming colors.

Check out the Dashing Diva crew backstage…

Catherine Holstein chose Mulberry Street

Diane Von Furstenburg chose Cosmopolitan!

We’ve tested these polishes out ourselves and just love them. The colors stay on for longer than a week even with my picky fingers. We love manicured nails but can’t stop living life so generally our manicures don’t last too long. I was happily surprised to find that the Dashing Diva polishes really held up (I think even better than Essie, definitely better than OPI). Not to mention their exclusive formula is free from harmful elements like Toulene, Formaldehyde and DBP! We also love the brush (unlike OPI’s which we hate!) Polish goes on seamlessly.

Plus, we just adore the new colors! Hit Dashing Diva Salon to pamper yourself or swing by to pick up a fun new polish and do it yourself!!
