We just love this London based jewelry company. They offer an eclectic mix of men’s and women’s jewelery in sterling silver and 18 carat gold. Our fave items are the charms and charm bracelets! Their stuff is wonderful quality and really makes you feel like you’re making an investment that you’ll have a long time. Their collections are unique, eccentric and adorable. What makes me feel like a princess when I shop here? Their presentation. Their items are charmingly packaged! They’re wrapped, pouched, boxed, ribboned and bowed, making you really feel like you’ve purchased a special piece.
They’re having a huge sale so take advantage of the recession while you can with all your Christmas and Hanukkah money you racked up during the holiday season.
Here are a few of our faves! We can’t get enough of their charms. We have a cupcake one and the bra! We wear them together with our Name necklace (circa Bat Mitzvah year) for a fun flirty look!

Barbie’s 50th Birthday-You don’t look a day over 18
Jan 2, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Entertainment, GigglesLooking pretty damn hot for 50 right? This glam girl was created 50 years ago by Ruth Handler, who named her after her daughter Barbara. Since then Barbie has worked with more than 70 of the biggest names in fashion. We just love her! Her hair, her bod, her clothes!
Here are some fun facts about the girl everyone loves to hate! (What? She’s perfect!?)
Barbie has four sisters: Skipper (1964), Stacie (1992), Kelly (1995) and Krissy (1995)
The best-selling Barbie doll ever was 1992 Totally Hair Barbie, with hair from the top of her head to her toes

The first Barbie doll wore a black and white zebra striped swimsuit and signature topknot ponytail.

Barbie has been subjected to many lawsuits over different controversies. One of the most notable-that her body promotes an unrealistic idea of body image for young women, leading to a risk that women who attempt to emulate her will become anorexic.

Barbie’s measurements have been estimated at 36 inches (chest), 18 inches (waist) and 33 inches (hips). According to a study in Finland, Barbie would lack the bodyfat required for a woman to menstruate and reproduce.
In 1965 Slumber Party Barbie came with a book entitled How to Lose Weight which advised: “Don’t eat.” The doll also came with pink bathroom scales which read 110lbs. ( Which would be around 35lbs underweight for a woman 5 feet 9 inches tall)

Hmm, okay so Barbie’s had some bad press. Mattel has somewhat tried to remedy this problem though. In 1997 Barbie’s body mold was redesigned and given a wider waist.

So Barbie is slightly anorexic. Oh well. We still love her and don’t judge. Maybe she’s just going through a hard time with Ken? We understand the risk she poses for young girls but we sure are happy she’s around! Thanks for making her a little more realistic.

New Year Resolutions
Jan 2, 2009 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Holiday
So we vowed to give up doing New Year Resolutions in 2003 but guess what? We broke it. We’re back! Making resolutions that most likely will be broken by February. However, right now, we’re hopeful!
1. Recycle. Live smaller. Simplify. Use less. We’re going to try to use less paper cups at work for coffee, water, tea, etc. We brought in a big mug to work (Michigan style! Go Blue!) and we’re going to use this instead of throwing away up to 6 paper cups a day!
2. Be healthier. Eat more fruits & veggies. Drink less alcohol (this holiday season has killed us!) Exercise a few times a week. But if we miss a few days we’re not going to beat ourselves up over it.
3. Save Money! We’re going to start a savings account. We’re also going to buy for quality. Not quantity! We find we save money somehow when we buy products that are better quality rather than buying a cheaper brand that we grow unsatisfied with sooner.
3. Write more! We vow to write even more and keep you informed of everything to make you the smartypant-iest you can be!
What are yours this year? C’mon, let’s break ‘em together!
