Ick, we’re not liking what we’re hearing from fashion magazines and countless websites we read to keep our little sweeties updated on the latest fashion. What are they reporting you may ask? Think whips and chains! Not digging it? Neither are we…but we did hate the juicy suit when it first came out so maybe we’ll be converted…we hope not.

Rodarte, Thakoon, Herve Leger, Narciso Rodriguez, and Givenchy seem to disagree with our taste…what do they know…we just can’t get onboard with a future of fetish.

This weekend Smartypanties went away on winter break. Being with other girls gives you an option to borrow your friends’ makeup and we were happy with what we learned! A few months ago we started using STILA Convertible color. This is essentially rouge. We bought it in a bright color at $25 a pop, figuring it will last us a while…which it has. However, the makeup is not easy to apply. We practically have to pull our skin off to rub the color in. Though, once we do it gives us that rougey ‘I’ve been out in the cold for hours’ look that we desire.  We were happily surprised this weekend though to find out that Maybelline has one-upped STILA.

How did I spend my Christmas evening??

Having amazing (and affordable) sushi at Yoko’s on Alton Road in South Beach!

Yoko’s is a small, but insanely good and cheap sushi place that only locals know about…no website, not a lot of flash… so you don’t know about it unless you’re among those in the know.

Consider yourself in the know now!

I always get the sunset (champagne mixed with peach and plum nectar), edamame, miso soup and 2 or 3 rolls…there are all the usual suspects as far as sushi goes…but, it’s super fresh and there are a bunch of unique, funky raw and cooked rolls…I like the Miami Heat roll…but, choose your own favorite…at these prices, you can afford to sample a few!

It’s located at 919 Alton Road.  And there’s freeeeee parking.  Which, is…like…basically UNHEARD of in South Beach.

Fresh Direct really stole Christmas this year from residents of Hoboken and Jersey city who were sitting pretty waiting for their groceries to be delivered. Last night, Fresh Direct failed to deliver holiday groceries on the biggest cooking night of the year and guess what they offered to fix this Scrooge-like mishap? 25% off Groceries that will be delivered 3 days after Christmas!
